Thanks Church of New Beginnings, WE'RE DOING IT! We can finally announce that the building of the Katekwan Village church has begun!!
I know we just published a blog a couple days ago, but we just couldn't wait to tell everyone the EXCITING NEWS. As many of you are aware, a couple months ago we started renting a parcel of land to build a church in Katekwan Village, Koena Sub-County, Bukedea District in Uganda. We proceeded with building a latrine and it is completed. According to Pastor Robert Opolot, the latrine is the best in the neighborhood, and it actually had to be locked because everyone wanted to use it. This is a predominately Muslim neighborhood, and we signed an agreement to rent it for two years. Well, the owners decided they would SELL us the land! This is a MIRACLE because Muslims normally do not sell land to Christians to build churches in their communities. So, we just closed on the property yesterday and paid the down-payment of 4,000,000 Uganda shillings (roughly $1200) with a balloon payment for the remaining 3,000,000 ugx (roughly $900) due no later than July 2nd, 2022. We're believing the Lord will supply the $900 well in advance of the deadline and if you can contribute any toward that amount, it would be greatly appreciated.
The other really exciting news is, we can now build a PERMANENT brick structure instead of a temporary one that has eucalyptus poles and iron sheets. This is where it gets really exciting!! The Church of New Beginnings in Glade Spring Virginia, of which I'm a member, is supporting us to plant this church and they are going to not only pay for building the church structure but also help provide whatever is needed for it to function properly! Thanks so much to the Church of New Beginnings, Pastor David Gilliam and his wife Amanda, the leadership team and the entire congregation for helping us plant this church. We are looking for many souls to be saved over the years and other ministries to be sent forth from this work. God bless y'all. I'm so proud to be part of such a wonderful body of believers!
Pastor Robert Opolot and his team wasted no time once the papers were signed to get this work started. Brick and sand were being delivered within hours of sending the finances to buy them, again thanks to the Church of New Beginnings. Robert is an amazing man of God and the most efficient project manager I have ever met, and I've met and worked with quite a few. Pastor Robert is also Ministry Coordinator - Mbale for Wholly Yours Ministries and is President and Founder of Shalom Resurrection Life Ministries, Uganda. The first pictures shown are the materials being delivered and the rest are of the latrine build.
