I want to introduce you to a young man named Frederick, Fred for short. Fred's full name is Onyango Fredrick Johnson. He is eighteen years old and lives with his parents in Mumias Kenya and goes to our church in the Ogalo marketplace, Fpfk House of Winners Worship Center. Fred is a very special individual with lots of courage and a "never quit" attitude. You see, Fred is challenged in that he has muscular dystrophy and doesn't have use of his legs. Fred's family is poor and cannot afford a wheelchair for him so he must be carried wherever he goes. They also cannot afford to send him to school.
Pastor Athanus, doesn't know I'm going to say this, but I want to let everyone know what a giving and kind person Pastor Athanus truly is. He is truly one-of-a- kind and we are extremely blessed the Lord chose him to be Director of Wholly Yours Ministries - Africa. Pastor Athanus, even though he himself struggles at times to provide for his own family, has been paying Fred's school fees for some time and Fred has now passed his primary school exams!! Even better than that, Fred has been selected to enroll in high school at the Nolondo C.B.M. Special National School for the Physically Handicapped in Bungoma Kenya. Let's all congratulate Fred on his amazing accomplishment and thank Athanus for his unparalleled love for others, especially those that seem to be forgotten by society.
We want to make sure Fred continues his education and has an opportunity in the future to be a productive member of society. This will not happen if Fred cannot continue his studies. Please take this opportunity to be a blessing to him and also relieve a burden from Pastor Athanus. We all have been so richly blessed. Fred needs a wheelchair, his school fees paid, a school uniform, transport costs, and other items in order to go to this special school and it starts on Thursday morning. Fred will be living at the school the entire time school is in session and there is a document attached showing items he needs. Will you please open your heart and be part of helping this young man to achieve his dreams? You may have not given before, but now is the time. Perhaps you can skip a meal out and give just a few dollars or perhaps you can provide all the money for one of these needs. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated and you can be part of someone's life, giving back and paying it forward. Don't assume that someone else will give because I can assure you that most of the time that just isn't the case.
The cost of the wheelchair is around $250, his school fees for the year are $105, his school uniform is $55, the items he needs for living at school are approximately $75 (see documents below) and the fuel to travel there and back is $40. Thankfully we now have a ministry van but gasoline there is between $8 and $10 a gallon so the transport cost is still high.
