New Beginnings

New Beginnings! We all need a fresh start from time to time, and Wholly Yours Ministries is excited to announce the launch of a new division to our ministry, called "WYM - New Beginnings". This new division will be for ministry located outside the United States and will include any business or program associated with helping those we assist become self-sufficient. The "New Beginnings" division is the sustainability arm of our ministry.
As most of you are aware, Wholly Yours Ministries is a "hand-up" ministry, not a "hand-out" ministry. As such, we strive to make every area of our ministry sustainable and help those that we assist to be able to provide for themselves, long term, giving each one hope for a better future. We believe in the principle of the ancient proverb, "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime", and education is key to long-term sustainability.
We are also thankful that we have been able to start two projects within this new division, New Beginnings Vocational Technical Institute in Uganda and New Beginning Housing Complex in Kenya. The New Beginnings Vocational Technical Institute will be located in Nankoma, Uganda, and our vision is to build facilities and eventually graduate 300 students per year in various trades. The New Beginnings Housing Complex is located in Kenya near a medical college, and it consists of four housing units with a total twenty rooms. These will be rented out to college students attending the university for off-site housing, providing income to help with ministry costs. Thanks to both Pastor Athanus Atimbo - Vice President WYM Africa and Pastor Patrick Wangira - Director of Missions WYM Africa, and all the team members in Kenya and Uganda for all their hard work and dedication on both these projects.
So far, thanks to our generous donors, we are off to a good start. We have registered Wholly Yours Ministries in Uganda as a non-profit and have also registered New Beginnings Vocational Technical Institute as a business underneath WYM. We have purchased one acre of land in Nankoma town center for the institute and three acres in Kinawambuzi for planting crops. Planting crops and selling them will help sustain the institute once it is built and operating. We will be planting Theobrama cacao trees which produce cocoa beans and also possibly planting coffee trees, both of which are good money crops. The total cost of the land purchase was $13,500.
We have also purchased land for the New Beginnings Housing Complex and are up to roof level on the first unit. We have spent around $4000 on that project, and the next stage is getting funds to put the roof on the first unit.
Another sustainability program that we are in the very early stages of setting up, is providing small business loans to individuals who want to start small businesses, both in Kenya and Uganda. This will be especially important to have in place once students start graduating from our institute.
As you can see, we've been able to do a lot, but we're only just beginning and we need your help, both in prayers and finances. The overall plan cost for the New Beginnings Vocational Technical School Institute complex is approximately $225,000. This consists of two three-story buildings for classrooms, an administrative building, a kitchen, and a small guest/meeting house. The overall cost for the New Beginnings Housing Complex is $25,000. This may seem like a lot of money, however, if we all work together, we can make this happen. We also serve a big God, a God of big vision.
We will start small, one building at a time, one level at a time, as funds become available, until it's complete. This is a long-term project, but we can get started with the school once we have the first floor of the first building in place, and we can grow from there. As a friend of mine says, we should never ever use the word can't, because we serve a big God, and through Him we can do all things.
If you are able and would like to help us with these projects, you can do so by giving through our PayPal account (whollyoursministries@gmail.com), CashApp ($WYM59), sending a check to Wholly Yours Ministries 483 Oak Hill St. NE, Abingdon, Virginia, or by direct deposit into our Wholly Yours Ministries Wells Fargo Bank Account. If there is another way you prefer to give, just let us know and we will accommodate.
God bless each one you for your prayers and contributions. I plan on going to Kenya and Uganda December 3rd through December 29th and we will be officially dedicating both projects while I am there. Enjoy the pics and the 3D renderings of the proposed complex.
