Urgent Prayers Needed for Katekwan Project

As most of you know, we are building a church in a predominately Muslim community in the Katekwan Village in Eastern Uganda. We urgently need and covet your prayers, and if possible financial assistance, to get it completely enclosed and secured quickly. We have had several issues building this church and a lot of resistance from the evil forces in that area. We are in a spiritual battle and need all prayer warriors to be praying against these evil forces. There are many that want us there but many who don't.

The build started out really good but as soon as we got the structure almost to the roof stage, we added a concrete header over the windows, and an entire wall collapsed. We rebuilt all that and got it to the roof level, installed the roof rafters and then I got the message below from Pastor Robert Opolot who is overseeing the build.

"They brought witchcrafts on Saturday evening, you remember the last pictures I sent you of the roof, on Sunday I received a call the roof has fallen down and most of the timbers has broken in pieces. That Sunday evening everyone was sick Julius, Enoka, James, Benon and Julius s father. 2 Muslims didn't feel good when they heard about the fallen roof. People in Katekwan town were laughing at us. On Monday I had to go and buy more timbers and again cement to rebuild the wall that was hit by timbers. The beam protected the walls only upper courses were broken. I had again to but 15 kilograms of assorted nails, and also change and get new builders one worship in Julius church. They came to rebuild the roof and today everything is completely and very strong. We have been praying each step reach and cover it with the BLOOD of JESUS."

While we have had much resistance, we know we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ and we will prevail. We believe many will come to know Jesus through this work. Below are pictures showing the various stages in the building process and the latest picture with the roof installed. To give you information as to the finances needed, we started with donations of $2400 from the Church of New Beginnings to start the project but we've already spent $3300. This is due to setbacks, material price increases, and increased transportation costs due to skyrocketing fuel prices there. At this point we quickly need windows and doors to secure the property from possible vandalism. The doors and windows will be around $900.
