In the Books!!!

That's right, in the books!!!! We are very happy to announce that Katekwan church is OFFICIALLY OPEN and worship services have begun!. Katekwan church is a church plant between Wholly Yours Ministries and Shalom Resurrection Life Ministries of Uganda, under the direction of Rev. Robert Opolot. Partnering with us on the Katekwan church plant was the Church of New Beginnings in Glade Spring Virginia (building) and the Church of God in Marion Virginia (land). Thanks to Pastor David Gilliam (CNB) and Pastor Arthur Chapman (COG) and all their church members for partnering with us to make this happen, along with the great teams in Kenya and Uganda.

Sunday, August 14th, we held an all day dedication service. It was a full day of activities starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m., including a break where everyone was fed a nice meal. Over 200 people attended, packed the church out and many people standing on the outside. It was an amazing day! Pastor Athanus Atimbo (Director - WYM - Africa), Pastor Patrick Wangira (Missions Coordinator - WYM - Africa), Pastor Kalvon Onyango - Interpreter, and Mukisa Godfrey - Pianist all joined the team of Pastors in Uganda along with Rev. Robert Opolot to dedicate this great work to the Lord. Please pray for many souls to come to know Jesus through this church plant as well as leaders being sent out into other communities from this church in the future.

Thanks to all who have given. The church is not quite completed, it needs a concrete floor (except for the alter area), plaster on walls inside and out, and then painted. If you can possibly help financially to complete it, it would be greatly appreciated and we covet your prayers.
