Let's Play Ball!!

Wow! Is it really a new year? Yes, indeed it is....2023 is here and moving forward quickly. That being said, I want to remind everyone what an amazing year 2022 truly was and thank each of you for your prayers and financial support throughout the year. If you're not convinced it was a great year, just go back and read through all the past blog posts. WOW, WOW, WOW.....look what the Lord enabled us to do! Us is YOU and ME, and of course Jesus.
Throughout last year we showcased some of OUR "Love in Action" programs and several involved individuals with many involving groups. We were able, because of your sacrificial giving, to make a positive difference in so many lives. This post is a little different, in that our "Love in Action" involves a private Christian school, Indanglasia Light Star Academy located in Kakamega County, Mumias District. The school has approximately 230 students from kindergarten through 6th grade. The Director and Founder of the School is Pastor Michael Wanzala. Pastor Michael started the school in 2015 to help children that couldn't afford to go to public schools due to the inability to pay school fees.
If you recall, last year, you enabled Wholly Yours Ministries to donate 10,000 bricks and some bags of cement to help them replace the mud walls and eucalyptus poles. The government was going to close the schools due to the unsafe walls, but because of you, they're still open.
Wholly Yours Ministries was able to help them keep the doors open, but we weren't alone. In addition to WYM, The Heart of Worship church in Greer, South Carolina and the "Humble House Cats" (also located in South Carolina) have both provided assistance. The "Humble House Cats", a small group of women with servant's hearts, actually paid for having our brick made into walls and have recently bought a few windows, a door, and had concrete installed on the floor of four of the classrooms! Way to go "Humble House Cats"!!
As you can see, several have been instrumental in keeping the doors open and there is a great need for continuous support for teachers' salaries, rent, and many other things. Our part though, and one of the reasons for this blog, is to help them by improving the learning environment at the school and making it an inviting, fun place for them to come and learn. We would like to transform the interiors of each classroom by plastering, painting the walls bright colors, and adding murals that will be designed by the children. On the exterior, we would also like to plaster and paint, add playground equipment, a volleyball court, a basketball court, and a soccer field. We'd also like to add the appropriate ground cover and get rid of the red mud (sand, grass, pebbles, etc.).
That's where you come in. We absolutely cannot do this without funds, and right now, they're very limited. Can you please help us to achieve our goal and fulfill this "Love in Action" program? I realize there are a lot of you struggling and can't give, and those that can are bombarded by charities needing money. All I ask, if you're able to give to a charity, that you pick us. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in many children's lives and the money you give buys a lot in Kenya due to their lower cost of living. If everyone that can afford to give, gives just a little, we can make this happen! Perhaps your church or organization can help us raise funds for this. It would be so very appreciated.
It's very easy to give to our ministry. You can give through our website (wholly-yours.com), PayPal (account whollyoursministries@gmail.com), CashApp (account $WYM59), or send a check through the mail to Wholly Yours Ministries, 483 Oak Hill St. NE, Abingdon, Virginia. You can also email us at whollyoursministries@gmail.com if you prefer another method, and we will work something out. We are a 501c3 non-profit and all your gifts are tax deductible per IRS guidelines.
The pictures below were taken when I was there in September as well as more recent ones with the doors and windows that Pastor Michael sent me. As you can see, there's a lot of room for improvement. Together, we can do this!!!
God bless each one of you!
